Guangdong launches winter-season invoice lottery to boost local consumption

Guangdong has introduced a winter invoice lottery to boost local consumption from December 1, 2025, to March 3, 2026, covering the entire province except Shenzhen.

Under the scheme, shoppers who spend RMB 100 or more on retail, dining, or accommodation can upload a valid invoice through the “YueShuiTong (粤税通)” mini-program on WeChat for an instant draw. Each verified invoice grants one chance to win cash prizes of RMB 200, 100, 50, 20, or 10, which are paid directly to the participant’s linked account. Only invoices issued legally during the campaign period and bearing the participant’s personal details are accepted.

Launched for the first time in 2024, the invoice lottery benefited hundreds of thousands of consumers and improved compliance with invoicing. Key sectors such as furniture and home renovation saw invoice volume jump by 70% and value rise by 90%, while tax officials reported clearer gains in consumer receipt-requesting habits and business standardization. This year’s edition builds on those results with wider coverage, simpler steps, and faster payouts to further boost winter spending and strengthen market compliance.

Users log in to the YueShuiTong (粤税通) mini-program via YuexinQian (粤信签), which supports facial recognition and seven forms of identification, including ordinary passports and the People's Republic of China Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card.
