The Huicheng-Pingshan Expressway, also regarded as the "Huizhou-Shenzhen Second Expressway," is accelerating construction, with the project expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2028.
The expressway commences in Yonghu Town, Huiyang District, Huizhou, and traverses through Sanhe Street and Qiuchang Street before linking up with the Shenzhen Outer Ring Expressway in Pingdi Street, Longgang District, Shenzhen.
Spanning approximately 31.094 kilometers, the expressway is slated for a three-year construction period. Designed as a dual eight-lane bidirectional road, it will accommodate speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour. The total estimated investment for this ambitious project stands at 9.516 billion yuan.
The section currently under construction is located in Qiuchang Street, Huiyang District, with a total length of 2 kilometers.
To date, the project has accumulated an investment of 83.6538 million yuan and has been progressing smoothly since the end of July.
After the project's completion, the commuting time from Huizhou to Shenzhen will be reduced from the current 1 hour or more to within 40 minutes. This will not only effectively alleviate traffic pressure during peak periods, such as major holidays, but also drive the development of industries along the route and promote the rapid flow of personnel, materials, and information.
