Foshan launches major projects worth 87.3 billion yuan in Q1

Foshan held a ceremony for major projects on February 25, 2026. This year, the city has outlined a total of 628 projects. In the first quarter alone, 101 major projects are set to break ground, with a combined investment of 87.3 billion yuan.

In 2026, Foshan has planned provincial- and municipal-level key construction projects with a total planned investment of 872.809 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 120.612 billion yuan. These include 105 infrastructure projects with a total investment of 388.962 billion yuan, 449 industrial projects totaling 403.746 billion yuan, and 74 public welfare projects with a combined investment of 80.101 billion yuan.

In the first quarter, Foshan plans to commence construction of 101 major projects, with a total investment of 87.309 billion yuan.

The city is accelerating project construction at full speed. Fifteen projects continued construction throughout the Chinese New Year holiday, 79 projects resumed work ahead of schedule, and 22 projects originally scheduled to start later this year were advanced to the first quarter.

Among the 71 industrial projects, nearly 60% are related to advanced manufacturing and other new quality productive forces, covering areas such as artificial intelligence and smart logistics. Meanwhile, 11 education and healthcare projects are progressing simultaneously. Nineteen infrastructure projects, with a total investment exceeding 50 billion yuan, will further strengthen the city's operational foundation.
