The Guangdong delegation secured more than 10 billion yuan in deals during the 22nd China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), which closed on May 25 in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province.

A total of 22 key cultural projects, which cover film, animation, online games, e-sports, live entertainment and online audiovisual content, were signed at a ceremony the province hosted on the closing day.

Among the deals was a partnership between Guangzhou-based Winsing Animation and Posts & Telecom Press to publish a 20th anniversary commemorative book for "GG Bond", a popular Chinese animation centered on a mischievous yet heroic pig character.
Li Taohong, brand marketing director of Winsing Animation, said the fair provided valuable opportunities for cooperation in the cultural industry.
"ICIF is truly a great platform, because it brings together major cultural tourism groups and publishing groups from across China, and helps link our IP to content and industry resources," Li said.

Another project focused on expanding Chinese cultural content overseas. Shenzhen Tian Tian Cheng Zhang Film and Television Productions Ltd. and two Beijing companies jointly launched a sci-fi and science popularization IP incubation center and global operation center.
Hu Xu, founder of Tian Tian Cheng Zhang said Shenzhen's strengths in technology and international exchanges make it an ideal base for developing globally oriented cultural products.
"Shenzhen itself is a gateway to the world, and also a tech hub," Hu said. "So beyond technological strength, our cultural industry is also growing fast in recent years."
Guangzhou-based game company 37 Interactive Entertainment signed a cooperation agreement with Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University to develop a game aimed at aiding the rehabilitation of Alzheimer's patients and slowing cognitive decline.
"We hope games can become a bridge that allows more people to access support in an easier and lower-threshold way," said Li Yin, senior public affairs manager at the company.
According to the organizers, the Guangdong delegation hosted 69 events during the fair, ranging from product launches to business networking and live-streaming sessions. More than 1,500 professional buyers attended the events through 51 buyer groups.

The Guangdong exhibition area featured AI-powered musical instruments, robotics, autonomous driving technologies, and unmanned passenger aircraft, highlighting the province's efforts to integrate culture with advanced technology industries.
