On August 9, 2026, the Chinese Film Exhibition · Guangdong Film Week concluded at SF World Cinema in CentralWorld, Bangkok, capping a multi-day showcase of five Guangdong-produced films that introduced Thai audiences to contemporary Chinese storytelling, animation and cultural heritage.
The selection included Dear You, Just Go Naila, Honey Money Phony, White Snake, and Into the Mortal, offering a broad spectrum of genres that resonated strongly with local viewers.
For many Thai attendees, the Chinese films inspired both admiration for the filmmakers' artistry and a renewed desire to visit the country in person. One audience member said she was deeply impressed by the experience. "I found the films visually stunning and engaging. The stories were wonderful, and I could see different aspects of Chinese culture throughout," she said, adding that what struck her most was the range of cultural elements depicted on screen.
She also expressed interest in visiting Hengdian World Studios, a major film production hub in Zhejiang. "I've been to Shanghai before, and I'd like to visit Hengdian," she said. "They shoot so many dramas and movies there. It seems really fascinating."
"I think Chinese animation is really interesting, and the characters are very cute," another viewer said. "I would recommend these films to anyone, and I hope more people will discover Chinese animation."
The same viewer also spoke enthusiastically about visiting China again. "I really want to go there again," she said. "China is amazing! I've been to Shanghai before, but I want to see other parts of the country and learn about the local cultures. I'm especially interested in visiting Guangzhou in Guangdong Province. I hope more people will learn about China and have the chance to visit."
A third attendee shared the view "I find Chinese movies very interesting," she said. "Watching them is also a great way to learn more about Chinese culture." Having visited Shanghai in April, she added that the films had inspired her to plan another trip to China soon.
