The 2025 Tea Garden Festival kicked off in Chashan Town, Dongguan City, on April 24. It features a vibrant celebration of intangible cultural heritage, rural tourism, and industrial promotion.
This year, the festival introduced a new element with 600 local runners participating in a street running event. Thirteen parade units showcased a blend of traditional folklore and contemporary culture, highlighting Dongguan's heritage alongside projects from Jiangxi Province and Tongren City in Guizhou Province.
The main stage featured an opening performance that integrated Cantonese opera, martial arts, and Sichuan opera face-changing, along with street dance and local art toy themes, reflecting a modern interpretation of cultural traditions.
The Dongguan Intangible Cultural Heritage Blessing Parade began at Dongyue Park, covering a 1.5-kilometer route. Participants included local cultural groups, students, employees from various sectors, and residents from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and abroad. The parade featured thirteen thematic units, such as the Traditional Blessing Unit and the Cultural Heritage Unit, with a total of 33 teams and approximately 1,300 participants.
Notable performances included the Mojiaquan Fist from Qiaotou Town, the Lion Dance from Shipai Town, and the Dragon Dance from Chang'an Town, showcasing the city's diverse cultural heritage.
