During summer, Longhaitian Beach on Donghai Island in Zhanjiang enters its peak coastal tourism season. Against a backdrop of blue waters and silver sands, seaside activities such as swimming and surfing are becoming increasingly popular, while Chinese white dolphins are often seen riding the waves and playing in nearby waters.

Located on the eastern coast of Donghai Island, Longhaitian Beach features an open shoreline and clear waters. In recent years, as the ecological environment of the nearshore waters has continued to improve, Chinese white dolphins have been spotted more frequently in the surrounding waters, sometimes as close as 100 meters from the shore. Many surfing enthusiasts have encountered the dolphins while riding the waves. "When the weather is good, it's quite easy to see them," said one surfer.

As a national first-class protected wild animal in China, the Chinese white dolphin is regarded as an important indicator species of marine ecological quality. The sight of Chinese white dolphins playing in the blue sea not only delights visitors but also reflects Zhanjiang's steadily improving marine ecology and the growing vitality of its coastal cultural and tourism sector.
