Air connectivity between Guangzhou and Southeast Asia is set to expand further this summer, with airlines increasing services to Singapore and Jakarta in response to growing travel demand.

From July 1, China Southern Airlines will increase its Guangzhou-Singapore services from four to five daily flights. One of the carrier's daily flights will also be upgraded from a Boeing 787-9 to an Airbus A350-900, boosting wide-body capacity on the route.

The expansion will bring the total number of daily flights between Guangzhou and Singapore to as many as nine, operated by four airlines. China Southern will offer 35 weekly flights, while Singapore Airlines will offer 14, Scoot seven, and Spring Airlines three.

With up to nine daily flights, Guangzhou and Singapore will enjoy their highest level of connectivity yet, including three wide-body services linking the two major financial and trade centres.

Meanwhile, Indonesia's TransNusa will increase flights between Jakarta and Guangzhou from seven to ten per week from July 8. The additional three weekly services, operated by Airbus A320 aircraft, will supplement the airline's existing daily schedule and provide more travel options between southern China and Indonesia.
