From November 3 to 6, a media tour focusing on industrial development was held in Jieyang. Journalists visited key industrial parks and enterprises to explore how the city is advancing its modern industries.
Jieyang, a key city in eastern Guangdong Province, is a core hub of Chaoshan culture and a major hometown of overseas Chinese, with a solid industrial foundation spanning petrochemicals, marine economy, and manufacturing. The city's GDP reached 186.763 billion yuan in the first three quarters of 2025, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 3.8%.

Health industry cluster drives innovation
At the Puning Industrial Park, Tang Runchun from Annol Pharma noted: "The park offers convenient services and policy briefings, which help us innovate and develop." The park's health industry cluster has created effective channels for enterprises to discuss policies and future trends in pharmaceuticals.

Currently, the park hosts 51 enterprises. In 2024, the total industrial output value reached 3.084 billion yuan, up 162% year-on-year. Fifteen pharmaceutical firms, including Annol, and ten textile and garment companies have established operations, forming a growing cluster.
Over the past two years, the park has assisted enterprises in securing 21.7 million yuan in government subsidies and has reduced production costs by over 10 million yuan.
E-commerce cluster revitalizes traditional brands
Phoenix, an old Chinese bicycle brand established in 1897, has found new vitality through digital transformation in Jieyang's Baixin E-commerce Industrial Park in Mianhu Town. Since 2018, its monthly online sales have grown from about 6 million yuan to nearly 30 million yuan, an increase of four to five times.

"Phoenix, as a manufacturer, had limited experience in e-commerce. We enhanced its visual presentation and platform operations, making its online presence more engaging and professional," said Wu Zhanhong from the park.
The park has developed into a one-stop e-commerce service hub offering training, operations, consulting, live-streaming, and marketing with 23 companies and 1,102 employees. In 2024, total online sales reached 2.342 billion yuan. The park also trains local youth in e-commerce skills and supports 727 related firms, driving the transformation and upgrading of the local industrial ecosystem.
Wire and cable industry expands rapidly
The Jiexi County Industrial Park is committed to building the most distinctive wire and cable industry park in the province. It currently has 80 enterprises, including 56 in the wire and cable sector. The park generates an annual output value of 2.025 billion yuan and contributes 35.1 million yuan in tax revenue.

The number of enterprises in the park has risen sharply from 8 in 2021 to 80 today, supported by the Industrial Park. Once all are fully operational, the park's annual output value is expected to reach 14.83 billion yuan.
Jieyang forms a new industrial landscape featuring green petrochemicals and the marine economy, alongside five distinctive advantageous sectors: garment and footwear manufacturing, hardware and electromechanical products, food processing, logistics and e-commerce, and the health industry.
