The day's schedule featured the middle-distance individual event in orienteering and the 144MHz standard distance individual event in radio direction finding. While no medals were awarded today, these rounds are critical in determining the final standings, which will be announced after cumulative results over the multi-day event.

In this edition of the National Games, orienteering is making its debut as an official game for masses while radio direction finding returns to the National Games after a 32-year absence, having last appeared in 1993.

Over the course of four days from May 8 to 11, 432 athletes from 38 delegations, representing 23 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, and the Hong Kong and Macao are competing across eight venues in Maoming's Gaozhou, Huazhou, Maoming New Town, and Dianbai districts, and a total of six gold medals will be awarded.
