The 9th Asia-Pacific Geoparks Network (APGN) Symposium was held on September 7 in Langkawi, Malaysia. A delegation from Danxiashan UNESCO Global Geopark was invited to attend discussions on geological heritage conservation, biodiversity, geological disaster prevention and control, as well as sustainable community development.

At the symposium, members of the delegation shared Danxia Mountain's practices in biodiversity conservation, community participation and ecological development, and presented the formation mechanisms, evolution and landscape characteristics of Danxia landforms. The delegation also outlined the geopark's work in geological disaster monitoring and emergency response, and exchanged views with representatives from South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Morocco and other countries and regions.
