At around 5 a.m. on April 12, the squall line brought thunderstorms, gusts of 10-12 levels, and brief, intense rainfall to Qingyuan and northern Shaoguan. By 9:18 a.m., the squall line was primarily located in Shaoguan and the northern part of Qingyuan. As of 7:33 a.m., Guangdong had issued 14 weather warnings.
On April 12, most of Guangdong will experience strong convective weather, including gusty winds of up to 12 levels, short bursts of heavy rain, and localized hail. Central and northern areas will see overcast skies with heavy rain, and some regions may experience torrential rain. The rest of the province will have cloudy to overcast skies, with moderate to heavy rainfall in some areas. Temperatures across Guangdong will drop by 4-7°C from April 12 to 13 due to the cold front.
From April 13 onwards, the weather will clear up, with sunny to partly cloudy conditions expected across the province.
Meanwhile, gale-force winds have been battering northern China, with strong winds, snowstorms, and sandstorms affecting regions including Inner Mongolia, Hebei, and Beijing. The powerful cold vortex is expected to persist through Sunday, bringing more severe weather to northern and central China. The National Meteorological Center has issued alerts for gales, snowstorms, and rainstorms across the region.
