On November 20, Nanfang Media Group and Wuhan University held a signing and inauguration ceremony and a symposium to discuss talent cooperation at Wuhan University.
Attendees included Huang Taiyan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan University; Chu Longqiang, Deputy Party Secretary of Wuhan University; Liu Qiyu, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Nanfang Media Group (Nanfang Daily); and Wang Wei, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of Nanfang Media Group.
Huang Taiyan emphasized that talent cultivation is the fundamental mission of higher education. Promoting cooperation between talent supply and demand is a crucial strategy for improving the quality of education and talent training. He expressed his hope that the signing and inauguration ceremony would serve as a valuable opportunity for the two parties to build a collaborative university-media talent development community and work together to promote talent cultivation at Wuhan University and the high-quality development of Nanfang Media Group.
Liu Qiyu shared the development history of Nanfang Media Group and its recent efforts to promote deep media integration. He acknowledged the important contributions of Wuhan University graduates in building the Group's comprehensive media matrix and facilitating systemic reforms in mainstream media services. Liu expressed his hope that the two parties would build on this collaboration to continuously explore new models of talent cultivation cooperation, further expanding initiatives such as co-developing premium courses and jointly cultivating postdoctoral researchers.
During the event, Chu Longqiang and Wang Wei signed the Student Internship and Practice Cooperation Agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Huang Taiyan officially presented a plaque designating Nanfang Media Group as a Talent Development and Recruitment Demonstration Base.
According to informed sources, the Talent Development and Recruitment Demonstration Base is a key collaboration initiative between universities, local governments, and enterprises that Wuhan University is actively advancing. The project aims to deepen partnerships with major employers in strategic regions, focusing on various areas such as student internships and practical training, grassroots government internships, employment placements, campus recruitment, and the recommendation of outstanding graduates.
