The Central SOE Investment Institution and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Industry (Capital) Matchmaking Conference was held in Beijing on July 27, bringing together 28 central SOE investment institutions, 47 Guangdong-based enterprises and representatives from the investment promotion departments of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

The conference took place as China enters the first year of its 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030). It focused on facilitating investment and capital cooperation between central SOE investment institutions and the Greater Bay Area, while also highlighting broader investment opportunities for global capital.
At the conference, representatives from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao invited central SOE investment institutions to deepen cooperation.
The Guangdong representative highlighted the province's vast market, comprehensive industrial chains, and vibrant innovation ecosystem, noting that Guangdong has established industrial investment funds totaling more than 1 trillion yuan. The representative also invited central SOEs to jointly explore opportunities in emerging sectors such as new energy and the low-altitude economy.
The Hong Kong SAR representative emphasized the city's advantages under the "one country, two systems" framework, including its common law system and mature financial risk management capabilities. These strengths position Hong Kong as a stable and reliable international operations hub for central SOEs amid global geopolitical changes and a two-way platform for "bringing in" and "going global."
The Macao SAR representative introduced Macao's role in leveraging its expertise in conferences and exhibitions, finance, and its China-Portuguese-speaking countries platform to help central SOEs connect more precisely with industrial chains in Portuguese-speaking countries. The representative also highlighted the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Science and Technology Exchange and Cooperation Center, jointly established in Hengqin, Zhuhai, and Macao with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology. The center will serve as a key bridge for international technology transfer and help Chinese tech enterprises expand overseas.
Representatives from eight central SOE investment institutions, including China State Shipbuilding Corporation Investment Co., Ltd., China Energy Engineering Group Investment Co., Ltd., and Guohua Private Equity Fund Management (Beijing) Co., Ltd., shared their investment intentions at the conference. Focusing on sectors such as marine equipment, new energy, the low-altitude economy, new materials, clean energy and hard-tech applications in non-ferrous metals, they outlined their existing Greater Bay Area investment presence, and proposed diverse cooperation approaches, including jointly establishing industrial funds, equity investment, commercialization through industry-university-research collaboration and financial services for industrial chains.
The event was the first of 18 supporting activities under the "Collaborating to Build the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area: Central SOE Matchmaking Conference."
