Maoming City, Guangdong Province, launched its low-altitude logistics network on October 20, with drones carrying local specialities taking off from multiple locations including Dianbai, Xinyi, Gaozhou, Huazhou, and Maoming New Town to converge at the city's main railway station, marking a key step in advancing its low-altitude economy.
The seven low-altitude logistics routes launched on the event day use downtown Maoming as the hub and cover areas including Dianbai, Xinyi, Gaozhou, Huazhou, and Yangjiang, forming a low-altitude logistics network. Once the routes are operational, they will significantly shorten the time for material distribution and improve logistics efficiency.
Aiming to establish itself as an "Innovation Highland for Low-Altitude Economy in Western Guangdong," Maoming has issued the "Implementation Plan for Promoting the High-Quality Development of Low-Altitude Economy in Maoming (2024-2026)," striving to develop the low-altitude economy into a "new engine" for the city's high-quality development.
Currently, the supporting infrastructure project of the Western Guangdong Comprehensive Freight Hub and the Low-Altitude Economy Pilot Zone, led by Maoming Transportation Construction Investment Group, is advancing steadily. Among its components, the operations center is scheduled to begin operations this year.
At the launch ceremony, Maoming also officially introduced a public low-altitude logistics brand, providing further impetus for the development of the local low-altitude economy.
