Guangzhou's first downtown duty-free store offers Golden Week Holiday discounts

Guangzhou's first downtown duty-free store has rolled out a series of discounts and cultural experiences for the eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday period (Oct. 1-8), aiming to attract international travelers with its unique blend of shopping and traditional culture, as was announced by the store on Sept. 30.

The duty-free store is located on the first floor of the Guangzhou Friendship Store in the Guangzhou International Finance Center, the heart of Tianhe's bustling CBD.

Any traveler scheduled to depart from China within 60 days via international flights or international cruise ships is eligible (including Chinese citizens) to shop at the store for duty-free commodities.

Others and the general public can also shop at the store for taxable goods.

The shopping promotion is held from October 1 to October 9.

During this period, all duty-free items will enjoy a straight 20% discount, while popular electronic products will be available at 10% off. Customers who spend a specified amount will also receive gifts, which may include high-end wine, limited-edition products, premium holiday hotel packages, and complimentary airport transfer service.

The store has also collaborated with local restaurants, scenic spots, hotels, and travel agencies like Ctrip. Customers making purchases at partner merchants can receive exclusive discounts and gifts from the duty-free store.

Guangzhou's first downtown duty-free store opened on August 26.

Unlike traditional duty-free shops at airports, it allows outbound international travelers to conveniently purchase duty-free goods in advance during a one-day visit to the city center, saving them from the airport rush.

The store covers a range of products, including liquor, perfumery, cosmetics, watches, and jewelry in the duty-free section, alongside taxable Chinese trendy products and local labels.

The store also provides instant tax refund services for eligible guests buying taxable goods, along with multi-language support, English signage, and foreign currency exchange facilities.
