Foshan furniture showcases Chinese aesthetics at Milan Design Week 2025

Two prominent furniture brands from Guangdong's Foshan are making their mark at the prestigious ADI Design Museum exhibition during the ongoing Milan Design Week 2025, being held in Milan, Italy, from April 8 to 13.

QIAN JIN Home and PABLO, both based in Longjiang Town, Shunde District, Foshan, are showcasing their designs under the theme of "SUSTAINABLE HABITAT" at the exhibition.

On the opening day, under the soft glow of the ADI Museum, a flowing leisure chair by MEET, a sub-brand of QIAN JIN Home, drew immediate attention. With its smooth, flowing wooden curves, the piece embodied the fluid elegance of solid wood craftsmanship. Nearby, the "Apple" desk lamp captured the iconic moment of Newton's inspiration—the falling apple—transforming a fleeting spark of genius into a timeless design experience through exquisite attention to detail and form.

PABLO's installation, "Shunde · Dragon," created in collaboration with emerging artist and designer Lai Feng, draws inspiration from the rich dragon boat culture of Lingnan. This piece integrates seven distinctive furniture elements into the form of a dragon boat,  each infused with symbolic meaning and adorned in traditional dragon boat colors, such as red, green, black, white, and yellow. More than a design statement, the installation captures the spirit of unity, cooperation, and fearless determination, bringing the enduring ethos of the dragon boat to the global stage.

"We hope to use furniture as a medium to express the harmony and inheritance of Chinese culture," said Feng Zhiliang, General Manager of PABLO. In collaboration with Feng Lai, PABLO also unveiled the striking "Phoenix Tree" cabinet, inspired by the peeling bark of phoenix trees lining the streets of Shanghai. The design features laser-cut mirror fragments that evoke the delicate moment of bark shedding—an artistic metaphor for the passage of time and the beauty of personal transformation.

Located at the heart of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Longjiang in Shunde stands as a leading hub in China's furniture industry—one of the most mature and dynamic regions in the country's domestic furniture market.

Seizing the momentum from Foshan's initiative to build a high-quality development pilot zone for towns and villages in the Xijiang-Beijiang District, Longjiang is advancing its signature "D·BEST" strategy, which focuses on five core drivers: Design (D), Brand (B), Exhibition (E), Super Headquarters (S), and Trade (T). Guided by the principles of "high standards, innovation, and aesthetic leadership," the town is committed to elevating its furniture industry through stronger branding, premium positioning, and deeper international reach.
