The second phase of the 137th China Import and Export Fair, commonly known as the Canton Fair, concluded on April 27 with overseas buyer number reaching a new record high as of this stage of the event.
According to organizers, 224,372 buyers from 219 countries and regions participated in the fair by the end of the second phase, the highest number recorded for the same period in the fair's history.

With a focus on "Quality Home Life," the second phase featured 10,313 exhibitors presenting household items, gifts and decorations, building materials, furniture etc. Many buyers noted that Chinese home products at the fair featured innovative designs and functional upgrades, with strong potential to appeal to overseas consumers.

Sustainability also emerged as a key attraction. A survey conducted before the fair showed that 56 percent of participating companies owned patents in green and low-carbon technologies, while 63.5 percent had obtained domestic or international green certifications. Altogether, around 880,000 eco-friendly products were exhibited.
The third and final phase of the 137th Canton Fair will be held from May 1 to May 5 under the theme "Better Life" to exhibit textiles and garments, medical and healthcare products, sports, travel, recreational goods, etc.
