Developing signature industries
From December 10 to December 11, the joint media delegation paid the first leg of their tour in Jiexi County, where they conducted on-site visits to the Jiexi County Industrial Park and several model towns and villages, gaining an in-depth understanding of the city's signature industries.

The Jiexi County Industrial Park
In recent years, Jieyang has built industrial clusters centered on its competitive industries, including green petrochemicals, marine economy, footwear and apparel, hardware and electrical machinery, logistics, and e-commerce. Jiexi County's pillar industry is the wire and cable industry, and related sectors.
In 2013, the Jiexi County Industrial Park was established with a focus on wire and cable industries. As a designated industry cluster for hardware and electrical machinery in Jieyang, the park is now home to 44 enterprises, 33 of which are related to the wire and cable industry. Once fully constructed and operational, the park is expected to generate an annual output value of 10 billion yuan.

Prosperous marine economy
The final stop of the joint interview tour was Huilai County. With a 136.9-kilometer coastline, the county is recognized as the central hub of Jieyang's marine economy. Relying on the South China Sea's deep-water harbor, Huilai mainly focuses on marine farming and offshore wind power industries. These industries not only harness the county's natural advantages but also align with the global trend towards green energy and sustainable agricultural practices. One example is Jieyang Qianzhan Wind Power Co., Ltd.

After fully leveraging its traditional wind power industry, the company has explored new types of industries. Utilizing its technological advantage, it not only develops floating offshore wind power projects, which have higher energy capacity factors with lower carbon emissions, but also creates a marine-farming project that integrates accommodation, tourism, and fishery farming. The company plans to invest over 500 million yuan in these two key projects, helping the upgrading and transformation of traditional marine industries.
