GBA Young Artist Music Week draws to successful close

The 5th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Young Artist Music Week has wrapped up at the Macau Tower after a four-day event held in Macao and the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin from January 18 to 20, 2025.

The event featured renowned musicians and educators, alongside over 1,000 young participants from cities across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), as well as from Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Zhejiang, and overseas, showcasing an impressive array of musical talents.

Launched in July 2024, the Music Week began with preliminary rounds in over 70 cities nationwide. From more than 10,000 contestants, 1,000 were shortlisted to compete in Macao, with an online session also allowing overseas and foreign youth to join.

The national final held in Maca covered categories such as piano, orchestral music, traditional Chinese music, vocal performances, and modern instruments.

Supported by government departments and music institutions from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, the Music Week aims to foster youth musical talent and promote cultural exchange across the Greater Bay Area.
