As 2026 marks the APEC "China Year," Zhanjiang Wuchuan International Airport has recently upgraded dedicated services for APEC Business Travel Card holders, becoming the only airport in western Guangdong to offer such services.
The APEC Business Travel Card is a multilateral visa facilitation arrangement under the APEC framework. The services at the airport are coordinated by the Zhanjiang Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and the Zhanjiang Municipal Bureau of Commerce. The card offers multiple benefits, including a one-time application with a five-year validity period, visa-free entry to 16 APEC economies and expedited border clearance. The visa-free economies include Russia, Vietnam and Indonesia, all key foreign trade partners for Zhanjiang. Cardholders can stay for up to 180 days per entry in eligible economies, making the card an important "key" for companies seeking to expand their presence in Asia-Pacific markets, conduct cross-border business negotiations and advance project cooperation.
At the airport, cardholders can enjoy priority check-in, priority security screening and priority boarding at both the domestic and international departure halls, as well as streamlined border clearance for international departures. These one-stop services help shorten cross-border business travel time, enable cardholders to make fuller use of policy benefits and significantly enhance the convenience and practical value of the APEC Business Travel Card.
The service upgrade is a practical step by Zhanjiang to improve government services for foreign-related matters and enhance service capacity at its ports of entry. The initiative is designed to better meet the frequent cross-border travel needs of foreign trade enterprises, helping market players seize opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region and strengthen their competitiveness in international markets.
