The Xpeng MONA M03 has reached 200,000 deliveries within 14 months of its first vehicle rolling off the production line, the company announced. On April 2, the model received a significant upgrade in its smart driving capabilities and electric powertrain systems.

The MONA M03 is manufactured in Zhaoqing, a city in western Guangdong that has become closely tied to Xpeng's growth. With the first vehicle coming off the line in August 2024, the model quickly became a best-seller, with monthly deliveries exceeding 10,000 units. By November 2025, Xpeng reported cumulative deliveries of 200,000 for the MONA M03, making it the first new energy vehicle model in its segment to reach that milestone. In January 2026, Xpeng announced its first profitable quarter, with the Zhaoqing plant having produced more than 500,000 vehicles in total since operations began.
Around Xpeng's Zhaoqing base, the local government is developing a vehicle industry park covering more than 67 hectares. Some key component suppliers have set up facilities nearby, enabling "adjacent supply" to the assembly line. Contemporary Amperex Technology's Ruishiqing Times battery plant also operates in the area, forming an ecosystem with Xpeng.
Zhaoqing's automotive industry has expanded beyond passenger cars. Last year, Jiwei.ai began producing driverless delivery vans, adding a sixth vehicle brand to the city's roster. The vans operate at L4 autonomy, working 24 hours a day, carrying up to 700 parcels and one tonne of cargo. Jiwei's South China headquarters is under construction in the large-scale industrial agglomeration zone in Zhaoqing and is expected to be completed in May.
More than 100 component suppliers above a certain scale now operate in Zhaoqing, covering batteries, electric motors, electronic controls, wiring, tyres, chassis, displays, sensors and lighting.

Zhaoqing has stepped up its efforts to attract investment in the new energy sector. The city's leadership has led delegations to Fujian and the Chengdu-Chongqing region to meet with major industry players. The Zhaoqing High-tech Zone has set up a resident investment office in Changzhou, Jiangsu province, targeting automotive parts projects.
