On November 23, join GDToday for a storytelling event with our invited photojournalists to master their techniques of visual narrative and listen to the stories they discovered in Guangdong.
Invited by GDToday, four world-renowned photojournalists are currently touring Guangdong to capture moments that not only document but also narrate the stories of the people and events they encounter along the way.
The four photojournalists are all recipients of the most prestigious awards in photojournalism, including the Pulitzer Prizes, the World Press Photo of the Year, and NPPA Best of Photojournalism. Among them is Nick Ut, the Vietnamese-American photographer best known for his iconic Pulitzer Prize-winning photo "Napalm Girl," which profoundly influenced public perception of the Vietnam War and became a symbol of its horrors.
From November 13 to 23, they will travel to six different cities for a multi-faceted experience of the charm of Guangdong, from the colourful culture of the Yao people in the mountains of Qingyuan to the vibrant metropolitan areas of Guangzhou, as well as the mega-project of the ShenZhong Link and more.
While photography is often seen as a factual rendition of reality, the subjects, framing, and composition are always choices made by the photographers and will shape visual storytelling.
During the storytelling event, the four photojournalists will share how they tell the stories of Guangdong through photos. There will also be a Q&A session for photography lovers to interact with some of the world's most outstanding photojournalists!
Time: 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, Saturday, November 23, 2024
