Follow this guide and check out Yunluo Botanical Garden

Follow these five strategies and enjoy the Yunluo Botanical Garden!

Explore Plants —— Discover the treasures of the garden

The noble and elegant natural treasure: Queen's fern (Platycerium superbum)

In the Lanting A Hall of Yunluo Botanical Garden, you can admire the gracefully shaped Queen's Fern, which boasts a length of up to 2 meters, making it the largest of its kind in South China. Its nutritive leaves are thick and tall, resembling a delicate queen's crown, symbolizing nobility and elegance. The sporophylls resemble deer antlers, showcasing primitive and awe-inspiring natural beauty, and making visitors feel like they are in the mystical ambiance of a tropical rainforest.

The Guangzhou landmark symbolizing five-colored clouds: "Five Sparrows" Bougainvillea spectabilis

Yunluo Botanical Garden has welcomed a "venerable elder" — a 50-year-old "Five Sparrows" Bougainvillea spectabilis that stands at 4 meters tall. With a flowering period of up to 260 days, it achieves "one tree with multiple flowers" through grafting techniques. Every November, new and improved varieties such as Green Cherry, Red Cherry, Bois Rose, Green Leaf Palace Pink, and Lemon Yellow bloom together, forming a splendid and colorful picture, offering aesthetic enjoyment and soul-stirring experiences.

The "tree of life" that is edible, medicinal, and can live for thousands of years: Baobab tree

Planted at the entrance of Mumian Road, the Baobab Tree is known as the "Tree of Life" in Africa and is one of the longest-living broad-leaved plants. All parts of the tree are edible; the fruit pulp can be eaten raw or pressed to extract edible oil. The leaves, which are high in calcium, can be used in soup or as medicine. The trunk is thick and tower-like, capable of storing a large amount of water, and after being hollowed out, it can even provide shelter, truly fulfilling the multiple functions of "being able to eat, drink, and live."

Admire landscapes —— The only botanical garden in the GBA with aerial views

Mumian Road: An aerial botanical garden pathway themed around Kapok trees, starting from the Root Plaza, running through Mumian Road, the Tropical Rainforest Plant Specialist Garden, and the Medicinal and Edible Plant Specialist Garden, stretching nearly 2 kilometers. Walking on it allows you to intimately engage with lush greenery, with towering trees that you usually look up at now close by; you can also gaze out at the forest landscape of the southern foothills of Baiyun Mountain and urban landmarks such as the Canton Tower.

Baiyun Pavilion: A natural viewing city balcony shaped like a Kapok flower, it is the highest point in Yunluo Botanical Garden, offering a panoramic view of Guangzhou. The skyline of Guangzhou's central district, the Canton Tower, Guangzhou International Finance Center, and many other urban landmarks are all within sight.

Rainforest Valley: A deep and mystical secret realm of the tropical rainforest, it is a miraculous place deeply embraced by nature. Here, mist swirls, roots spread out in all directions, and branches intertwine, creating a hidden and dreamy world beyond the hustle and bustle of the outside world, with endless vitality and mysteries everywhere.
