Qingyuan greets Chinese New Year in rich red color

As the Chinese New Year approaches, Qingyuan is ushering in the new year with the color red. Red, as the main color of the festival, symbolizes festivity, happiness, and prosperity, representing passion, vitality, and hope. The streets and alleys of Qingyuan are filled with a rich "red atmosphere of the Chinese New Year."

The Yao ethnic group's Shua Ge Tang, which is among the first batch of national intangible cultural heritages, is a folk cultural activity passed down through generations among the Pai Yao people (also known as Ba Pai Yao) in Liannan Yao Autonomous County, Qingyuan. With colorful costumes, melodious songs, and passionate dance steps, every household in the village gathers to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Red vegetation adorns the Chinese New Year

In winter, the metasequoia on the south bank of the Beijiang River in Qingyuan adds a touch of red to every corner of the park. The reddish Chinese tallow tree leaves in Chengxi Village, Sanjiang Town, Liannan Yao Autonomous County, also add brilliant colors to Qingyuan's New Year. In the wetland parks of Yingde City, large areas of vegetation are also dressed in red. The maple leaves in Xiaobo Village, Futang Town, Lianshan Zhuang and Yao Autonomous County also keep up with the pace of the new spring and put on new clothes.
