Shenzhen's Huaqiangbei, one of China's best-known electronics hubs, has unveiled a list of eight must-have AI gadgets for international shoppers, offering visitors a guide to some of the latest consumer technology available in the city.

The list includes eight products: AI glasses, drones, AI companion robots, AI watches with health-monitoring features, pocket cameras, AI translation earbuds, AI mice, and AI backpacks. The products have a combined listed price of 6,200 yuan (about US$870).
The selection is based on products purchased by international visitors to Huaqiangbei this year. Unlike the previous three editions, which targeted domestic manufacturers, buyers and tech enthusiasts, the latest list is tailored to international shoppers, highlighting portable, practical gadgets for travel, moment capture and cross-language communication. The idea is to turn useful AI technology into high-tech souvenirs that visitors can take home from Shenzhen.
To help visitors navigate the vast electronics market, Huaqiangbei has also introduced a "Huaqiangbei China Haul Shopping Map," featuring five themed routes covering AI gadgets, digital products, Chinese brands and trendy goods, hardware innovation and a one-day shopping itinerary.

A separate map identifies more than 200 service locations catering to international visitors across 10 categories, including hotels and restaurants. Visitors can use it to find services such as international bank card payments, currency exchange and mobile payment options.

The district is also turning to AI to help international visitors navigate the market. Making its debut in Huaqiangbei, Xiaobei is China's first AI-powered glasses-free 3D digital volunteer. The virtual guide is joined by six other digital volunteers deployed at key locations. Together, they offer round-the-clock navigation, product searches and multilingual translation. They are part of a wider support network that includes more than 100 international volunteers and over 700 bilingual volunteers.

Huaqiangbei receives more than 8,000 international visitors a day. As Shenzhen prepares to host the 2026 APEC meeting in November, the district is stepping up efforts to make its technology market easier for overseas visitors to explore.
