Guangzhou's Haizhu District will be home to a new international school—BASIS International School Guangzhou—located in the heart of the Pazhou Central Business District (CBD), expected to open in the fall semester of 2026, according to the Guangzhou Haizhu High-Quality Development Conference held on the morning of February 7.

The Guangzhou BASIS International School project is the 8th campus of BASIS in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the 15th nationwide. Construction began last year and is anticipated to be completed next year. The school will provide approximately 2,000 student seats, enrolling students from preschool through middle school, with admissions set to start next year.
Moreover, the school occupies an area of about 24,000 square meters on the south side of Xingang East Road, Pazhou Subdistrict, Haizhu District, featuring a total construction area of around 74,000 square meters. Facilities will include an auditorium, library, black box theater, swimming pool, gymnasium, athletic field, observatory, science labs, art rooms, music rooms, cafeterias, and more.
