This year's May Day holiday railway transport period will run from April 29 to May 6, lasting a total of eight days. To accommodate the expected surge in passenger traffic, Shantou Railway Station plans to add 187 extra train services during the holiday, primarily covering popular intra-provincial routes to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and other destinations for travel and family visits. This includes 25 additional nighttime high-speed train services.

Shantou is a highly popular tourist destination in Guangdong. To ensure a smooth travel experience, the station will open two additional security check lanes each day and establish "priority" channels for passengers with urgent needs in the identity verification, ticket inspection, and security areas. Additionally, Shantou's public transportation system will increase shuttle bus frequencies and launch direct tourist bus lines from the station to popular attractions such as Shantou Small Parks and Nan'ao Island.

Holiday train travel tips
1. Plan ahead and allow extra time for station entry and boarding. During peak travel times, real-name verification and security checks can take longer. Avoid arriving at the last minute to prevent delays or missed trains.
