Renowned American photographers explore acoustic laboratory in Dongguan's Songshan Lake

On November 17, the "Joyful Connections in Guangdong: Together to See China" event welcomed a group of prominent American photographers to Dongguan's Songshan Lake. This initiative aimed to showcase the area's natural beauty, cultural landscapes, and modern technological advancements. The participating photographers come from the Los Angeles Times, the Associated Press, Agence France-Presse, and the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA), with several being Pulitzer Prize winners.

During their visit to the acoustic laboratory in Songshan Lake, the photographers toured various facilities, including semi-anechoic and fully anechoic chambers, as well as listening rooms, to experience cutting-edge acoustic products firsthand. Irfan Khan, a former senior reporter for the Los Angeles Times and a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, expressed great interest in the laboratory's acoustic research. Also, he was eager to learn more about the advancements in Chinese acoustic technology.

The Songshan Lake Acoustic Laboratory is a key component of Dongguan's acoustic industry innovation and entrepreneurship complex. It provides technical transformation and verification services to acoustic enterprises, driving industrial upgrades and accelerating the transformation of technological achievements.

Michael Nelson, chief photographer for the EPA in Los Angeles and a former reporter for Agence France-Presse, also a World Press Photo Award and the National Press Photographers Association Award winner, remarked that this trip allowed him to witness the innovative applications of acoustic technology across various fields and appreciate the diverse charm of Songshan Lake.

On November 23, GDToday will host a storytelling event in Guangzhou, where the four photographers will share their shooting inspirations and stories from Guangdong. Their photographic works are expected to be exhibited from December 2024 to January 2025 in both Guangzhou and Los Angeles, enhancing the international visibility of the Greater Bay Area, attracting global attention and investment, and showcasing the diverse charms of Guangdong province.
