Maoming Port is a national first-class open port and a key regional hub. The Maoming Port Railway Line comprises two segments: the Bohe New Port Area Dedicated Line and the Maoming Guanggang Terminal Dedicated Line, spanning a total length of approximately 4.2 kilometers.

The Maoming Guanggang Terminal Dedicated Line is 1.2 kilometers long, featuring two storage tracks and three loading/unloading tracks. This line connects to the Maoming Guanggang Terminal, the city's first 100,000-ton deep-water port. Jointly developed by Guangzhou Port Group and Maoming Port Group, the terminal faces the South China Sea and links to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with maritime access to Southeast Asia and global destinations.

The operation of the railway line enhances the water-rail intermodal transport system, enabling seamless connectivity with national rail networks, including the Maoming Bohe Port Railway, Luzhan Railway, and Guangzhou-Maoming Railway. This expanded network reaches Guangxi, Guizhou, Hunan, and beyond.

As a focal point for Maoming Port's future development, the Bohe New Port Area primarily handles the transportation of crude oil, petrochemical products, coal, minerals, and LNG. The Bohe New Port Area Dedicated Line begins at Bohe Port Railway Station, runs south along the east side of Maoming Port Avenue, and connects to the loading/unloading area of Maoming Guanggang Terminal. Designed for a maximum train speed of 40 km/h, the line enhances the Bohe New Port Area's role in supporting port-side industries and the regional economy.
