Starting at 16:00 local time on September 22, an interactive Guangdong carnival featuring sights, tastes and hands-on fun, Guangdong Meets the Asia-Pacific, China Finds — "Guangdong Goods, Global Reach" Indonesia Promotion Event, will kick off at Level 1 Atrium Plaza of Lotte Mall Jakarta, Indonesia.
Co-hosted by Nanfang Media Group (Nanfang Daily) and organized by South and the Indonesia-China Friendship Association, the event centers on "Culture + Tech."
Featuring visual exhibitions, product showcases, sharing salons, cultural performances and business co-building, the event highlights Lingnan charm, brings quality Guangdong products and tech breakthroughs to Indonesia, and deepens economic, trade and cultural ties between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and ASEAN.
Stage set by culture: Touch and feel Lingnan charm
From the rolling verdant peaks of northern Guangdong to the skyline of the Pearl River Delta and from Chaoshan's ancient heritage to Leizhou Peninsula's tropical flair, the event opens with a promotional film of Guangdong, taking audiences through the essence of Guangdong's 21 cities.
At the event, Indonesian models draped in Xiangyunsha (Xiangyun Silk), a fabric made via a national intangible cultural heritage craft, will showcase signature Guangdong goods. An Indonesian traditional music ensemble will perform classic Chinese music like Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon.
The "See You in Guangdong" sharing session will invite Chinese and Indonesian guests to share stories of trans-oceanic friendship. Created by South, this initiative has staged over 180 events across 30-plus countries, fostering cross-cultural dialogue.
Visual storytelling: A multi-dimensional, vivid Guangdong
The "Guangdong: Better with Time" visual exhibition displays 20 curated photographs capturing southern Guangdong landscapes, everyday life and folk customs.
Selected from over 12,000 global submissions to IP Guangdong's annual album campaign (contributed by creators from the U.S., Russia and beyond), 152 works by 122 creators feature in Better with Time: The 2026 Guangdong Album, making its Jakarta debut.
Moreover, the "Shenzhen Nanshan: Where Mountains, Sea and Time Meet" visual exhibition reflects Nantou Ancient Town, Shekou, Qianhai, Houhai, Shenzhen Bay, Xili Lake and Lingdingyang through eight scenic spots of Nanshan, and demonstrates historical overseas Chinese remittance letters (qiaopi) and customs documents from Jakarta to Shenzhen to further highlight Nanshan's open and innovative spirit nurtured by mountains and the sea.

The "Guangdong Goods, Global Reach" themed exhibition spotlights the vibrancy, cutting-edge strength and deep heritage of Guangdong manufacturing with over 100 items across five categories: AI tech, authentic Lingnan flavors, creative cultural products, digital gaming IPs and Xiangyunsha fashion.
The "Nanshan Innovations: Across Mountains and Seas" tech showcase features Timekettle's AI simultaneous interpreters for 3-way Mandarin-English-Indonesian translation; Hypershell's exoskeleton robots weighing less than 2 kg, with AI dynamic gait algorithms offering up to 40 percent assistance; stringless smart guitars and more, to showcase Guangdong's smart manufacturing edge.
