The 2026 Beijing Culture Forum opened on September 22, gathering around 600 guests to foster global dialogue and strengthen international cultural exchange.
The event brought together scholars, heads of major cultural institutions, cultural enterprise executives, cultural figures and industry leaders.
Under the annual theme "Cultural Heritage and Mutual Learning Among Civilizations," the forum serves as an important platform for understanding Chinese culture and promoting international cultural exchange and cooperation. It aims to provide enduring cultural momentum for building a community with a shared future for humanity.
This year's event features one main forum, five parallel forums and six themed salons. Attendees held in-depth discussions on the systematic protection of cultural heritage, international conservation cooperation, the preservation of ancient cities amid urbanization, cultural heritage in artistic creation and youth participation.
Side events include a special release session for the release of major achievements and a cultural industry investment conference.
The 2025 Report on China's Cultural Exchanges with the World, produced by the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies (ACCWS), was released for the first time during the special achievement session on Tuesday evening.
Li Yafang, deputy editor-in-chief of China International Communications Group (CICG) and president of ACCWS, presented the report's key findings. The report said international cultural exchanges gained fresh momentum in 2025, shaping a multidimensional development landscape that provides lasting cultural impetus for a shared global future.
