The modern agricultural industrial parks of Huazhou County-level City and Qingcheng District of Qingyuan City have been listed in the 2023 batch of national agricultural industrial parks, according to a recent notice issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

The development of the national modern agricultural industrial park aims to build a group of pioneer zones to promote the efficiency and quality of the agricultural sector, make rural areas suitable to live and work in, and ensure that farmers are affluent and well-off, according to the report.

As planned, the parks will promote the upgrading of the industrial chain, build green production bases, develop processing and distribution industries, and further integrate primary, secondary, and tertiary industries.

The Modern Agricultural Industrial Park of Huazhou County-level City in western Guangdong features the Tomentose Pummelo Peel industry. Known as the "Southern ginseng", the local specialty can resolve phlegm, relieve cough, and invigorate the stomach.
The park covers an area of about 176,666 hectares and gathers industrial chains including planting, processing, sales, and tourism. There are 165 business entities, 9 large enterprises, and 9 specialized cooperatives.

The park has led 300,000 farmers to engage in the Tomentose Pummelo Peel industry. Now Huazhou has planted more than 8,666 acres of Tomentose Pummelo Peel in total.

The Modern Agricultural Industrial Park of Qingcheng District in Qingyuan covers 8 local towns and subdistricts. It is mainly built for the preservation, breeding, and integration development of the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries of Qingyuan partridge chicken.
