Winter internship program gathers talent from global top universities in Hengqin and Zhuhai

On January 12, the "Zhuhai & Hengqin 2025 Global Youth Talent Winter Internship Program" was officially launched in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. Thirty outstanding talents from renowned global universities will gain firsthand experience at the forefront of Zhuhai and Hengqin's emerging industries and future sectors.

The eight-day program has attracted over 2,900 young talents from prestigious universities, with 30 selected participants from institutions including Peking University, Tsinghua University, the University of Hong Kong, the University of Macau, and the National University of Singapore. The majority of these participants are postgraduate students in STEM fields, with over 90% holding doctoral degrees.

During the program, these talents will visit key enterprises and industrial parks in Zhuhai and Hengqin, including prominent companies like Kingsoft, Gree, and Huafa. They will also tour the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Co-operation between Guangdong and Macao and the Super Star Space. Additionally, participants will engage in hands-on job practice at leading companies such as the Guangdong Institute of Intelligence Science and Technology, Ninestar, Jafron, and so on. The program will also feature visits to the State Key Laboratories of the Macau University of Science and Technology, the Macau Museum, and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.

In recent years, Zhuhai and Hengqin have placed significant emphasis on talent development, implementing a series of policies to create a favorable environment for talent attraction. By 2024, the region's total talent pool exceeded 900,000, with around 70,000 new talents introduced, earning recognition as a national talent-friendly city and ranking first in the Talent Development Ecology Index among prefecture-level cities nationwide.
