The first batch of spotfin croaker farmed on the world's first floating dynamic positioning aquaculture platform, Zhanjiang Bay No. 1, was successfully harvested on June 18.
This marks the platform's first fishing production output since entering operation and represents a milestone in the exploration of deep-sea aquaculture and modern offshore fishing.

At the harvest site, croakers were hauled from the water in an orderly manner. Raised in the pristine waters of the open deep sea under refined farming management, the fish showed strong growth, with plump bodies and vigorous vitality. This highlights the advantages of offshore aquaculture.

Croaker is a traditional high-value commercial fish along China's coast. It is known for its tender flesh, rich nutritional content, and its swim bladder, which can be processed into premium fish maw, often dubbed the "soft gold of the deep sea". In January, about 190,000 kg of croaker fingerlings were released. Throughout the farming cycle, the operation team conducted comprehensive management covering water quality monitoring, feeding control, growth tracking, and fish health management, gaining valuable experience in deep-sea cultivation of high-value marine species.

Beyond supplying fresh croaker to the market, Zhanjiang Longwangwan Marine Ranch Technology Co., Ltd. has expanded into value-added products and branding. It has launched the "Deep Affection for Croaker" product line, which features various items such as fish maw, fish steaks, fish chunks, dried fish, and dried fish scales. These products debuted at the Aquatic Expo and related promotional events on June 18, with online sales gradually rolling out through the Zhanjiang Bay Member Mall.
