Hengqin Midsummer Music Festival returns with 12 shows over six weeks

The Hengqin Midsummer Music Festival will return on July 17 at the Tianmu River Rowing Park in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.

Returning for a third consecutive year, the festival has become one of the cooperation zone's signature outdoor summer music events.

Performances will run every Friday and Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. through August 22, bringing together musicians from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao for a diverse program of live music. Admission is free, but advance reservations are required.

Free admission is available through a real-name reservation system. Tickets for the two performances each week will be released every Wednesday through the Hengqin Minsheng (横琴民生) WeChat official account and the FindMacau (发现澳门) WeChat mini program. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Opening night will feature performances by Hong Kong singer Wilfred Lau, Macao singer Kane Ao Ieong and mainland artist A Li Yue, while special guests are set to appear at the closing ceremony.

The venue will also feature themed photo spots and a range of food stalls. Visitors may bring their own camping chairs or use the complimentary chairs, inflatable sofas, and picnic mats provided by the organizers while enjoying the performances. Participants in social media activities can also receive festival souvenirs on site.

Throughout the festival, organizers will operate free shuttle buses and autonomous minibuses between Hengqin Port and the park. Visitors may also reach the venue by bus, private car, or taxi.
