A think tank delegation from Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries visited Guangzhou on September 15 to learn about the city's low-altitude economy and experience its traditional culture, with stops in Huangpu District and the historic Yongqing Fang neighborhood.
The delegation visited EHang Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. in Huangpu, where members toured the company's exhibition hall and learned about the development of Guangzhou's drone industry and low-altitude economy.
Company staff briefed the delegates on applications including short-distance passenger flights, small-item logistics and emergency response. The VT-35 and EH216-S models attracted particular attention, with several delegates stepping into the cabins for photos.

José Peña, a professor and researcher at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), said the visit showed him how Guangzhou combines technological innovation, economic dynamism and a strong cultural identity.
"What impressed me most is the way the city combines technological innovation, economic dynamism and a strong cultural identity," Peña said.
Peña also said there was potential for closer links between Guangzhou and Mexico in areas including technology, advanced manufacturing, sustainable urban development, logistics, education and academic exchange. He hoped such links could grow beyond traditional trade to include investment, innovation, knowledge exchange and people-to-people ties.
The delegation then traveled to Yongqing Fang, passing through Huangpu's high-tech areas and Tianhe's central business district before arriving in Guangzhou's older neighborhoods, where streets are lined with traditional arcades.
At Yongqing Fang, the group visited Zhao Heritage Atelier, where a lion dance practitioner introduced the delegates to the history of the tradition and demonstrated how lion heads are made by hand. The delegates then watched a lion dance performance.

"I had only seen it in movies before. I never imagined I would be able to watch it live today," said Alves Manjate of Maputo Pedagogical University.
Manjate said Guangzhou is a destination for many Mozambicans who come to study or do business.
"I am very happy to be here and see this dynamic city with my own eyes," he said, adding that Guangzhou's high-rise buildings, emerging industries and heritage preservation had left a deep impression on him.
He also said he hoped to see cooperation between China and Mozambique move forward and produce concrete results.
The delegation also visited Bruce Lee's ancestral home, a mansion built in the traditional Xiguan architectural style, where members learned about the martial arts and the star's family ties to Guangzhou.
