On June 2, the first Hengqin-Macao International Digital Art Expo concluded at the Hengqin Culture & Art Complex. The expo served as a significant benchmark for cultural innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), showcasing the integration of culture and technology.
Cultural integration in the Greater Bay Area
The expo, themed "Converging at the Summit," served as a dialogue platform for leading global smart equipment and software service providers as well as digital art pioneers. The four themed exhibition areas—Re-enchanting, Art Future, Tech Reconstructing Art, and Super Association—facilitated multidimensional interactions. They showcased cross-field achievements and shared experiences, promoting the deep integration of the GBA's artistic and cultural elements with global technological innovation resources.
The participation of the Palace Museum and both domestic and international artists was a highlight. Their works demonstrated cutting-edge digital art explorations and conveyed the emotional resonance of diverse cultures. This symbiotic practice of culture and technology not only optimized the GBA's cultural ecosystem but also injected core energy into the region's cultural soft power.
The expo also established an international communication matrix, becoming a new platform for projecting the GBA's cultural soft power and propelling the GBA onto a broader stage.
Technology empowering innovation
The Hengqin-Macao International Digital Art Expo was not only an artistic feast but also a showcase of technology. With over 20 tech companies exhibiting leading smart equipment and advanced tech applications, it provided robust technical support for digital art creation and display. From virtual and augmented reality to artificial intelligence and big data analysis, each tech demonstration was impressive and highlighted technology's profound impact on art.
During the expo, more than 15 keynote speeches, forums, and art classes offered valuable insights into digital art development. Outstanding representatives from culture, technology, business, and investment fields explored topics such as digital art development trends and the convergence path of technology and art.
The Hengqin-Macao International Digital Art Expo will continue to act as a bridge, promoting the GBA's digital art industry ecosystem and international cultural exchange, aiming to inject new vitality into building the GBA into a globally influential international sci-tech innovation center and cultural hub, and to contribute GBA solutions and Chinese wisdom to the diverse development of global digital art.
