Foshan's Guicheng showcases urban vitality with music, youth culture, and waterfront experiences

Guided by the concept of "Travel with the National Games in Nanhai," Guicheng Sub-district in Nanhai District aims to blend international flair, modern trends, and Lingnan cultural heritage to create an immersive, high-impact cultural tourism experience in Foshan's urban core.

No need to travel far—visitors to Guicheng can experience the vibrancy and diversity of Foshan, one of China's trillion-yuan economy cities.

Officials announced a lineup of trendsetting events with appeal to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, further positioning Guicheng as a rising hub for youth-oriented performing arts.

Highlights include the year-end launch of the Qiandeng Lake Music Show series and the Qiandeng Lake Guochao Music Festival, themed "World Music in Guicheng." The festival aims to bridge tradition and modernity through cross-cultural musical dialogue.

During the peak consumption season in September and October, Guicheng will leverage its position as a high-end commercial hub to offer a one-stop "watch, play, and shop" experience—transforming shopping into an urban escape.

The third "Foshan Village Pro League" e-sports tournament will engage younger audiences by tapping into their cultural interests. Meanwhile, the "Diejiao Dragon Boat Drift – Youth Study Camp," the National Day Dragon Boat Cultural Camp, and nighttime kayaking on Qiandeng Lake will further enhance Guicheng's growing lineup of water-based experiences.
