An Indonesian tourism industry delegation has become the first international group to enter the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin under China's new 240-hour visa-free transit policy.
Organized by authorities in Hengqin and Macao, the delegation from the Association of the Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASTINDO) crossed the Hengqin Port on December 16 after arriving in Macao two days earlier. The group visited several cultural and leisure sites in Macao before continuing their tour of Hengqin.
Hengqin was added in November to the list of ports eligible for China's 240-hour visa-free transit policy. Under this scheme, citizens of 55 countries with valid travel documents and confirmed onward tickets to a third country can enter China without a visa. Visitors may stay in specified areas for up to 10 days for tourism, business, or visiting friends and family.

During the visit, an industry exchange was held to explore "multi-stop" travel packages connecting Macao, Hengqin, and other cities in Guangdong for Southeast Asian markets. The delegation is scheduled to conclude its trip on December 18, returning to Indonesia via Guangzhou.
