Huawei Developer Conference 2026 (HDC 2026) opened at Songshan Lake in Dongguan on June 12 with the debut of its HarmonyOS 7.
Huawei's announcements at HDC 2026 also included the comprehensive evolution of HarmonyOS intelligence toward an Agent architecture; the version 2.0 of the Harmony Agent Framework; the launch of HarmonyOS Spatial Computing; and the release of openPangu 2.0.
The annual conference attracted more than 10,000 developers, industry experts, and ecosystem partners, who exchanged views on the development of the HarmonyOS ecosystem and advances in AI technology.
Since 2019, Huawei's annual developer conference has been held at Songshan Lake in Dongguan for eight consecutive years.
Data released at the conference show that more than 66 million devices now run HarmonyOS 6, marking a historic leap in both ecosystem scale and user experience.
To date, HarmonyOS has attracted more than 11 million registered developers, and its app marketplace now offers more than 400,000 apps and services. HarmonyOS is now China's second-largest smartphone operating system.
