Guangdong aims for an annual GDP growth of around 5% during the 15th Five-Year Plan period

Guangdong aims to maintain an average annual regional GDP growth of around 5% during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, as announced by Meng Fanli, Governor of Guangdong Province, during the fifth session of the 14th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress which kicked off in Guangzhou on January 26. From 2022 to 2035, the province will essentially achieve socialist modernization, double its economic output, and elevate its per capita GDP to the level of moderately developed countries.
