Fireworks light up Shantou's Inner Bay for Spring Festival celebration

A spectacular Spring Festival fireworks gala illuminated the night sky over Shantou's Inner Bay on February 18, with radiant bursts unfolding above the rolling blue waves in a dazzling display of light and motion.

Nine giant vessels sailed across the bay like silver dragons, framing a 1.2-kilometer fireworks firing line that shimmered like a galaxy. Covering a 120,000-square-meter aerial display area, the show featured more than 100,000 fireworks and 10,000 drones, creating an immersive visual spectacle.

Blending festive symbolism with the city's maritime heritage and overseas Chinese culture, the performance featured 12-inch display shells—the largest domestically produced models—with bursts reaching up to 150 meters in diameter. Newly designed award-winning shells, layered wave effects and luminous blue fireworks added depth and grandeur to the 30-minute program.

Laser technology was introduced for the first time, with 26 laser units weaving dynamic patterns across the sky. Together with synchronized drones and fireworks, they formed a multi-dimensional light show, presenting a vivid painting in the sky and conveying festive greetings to audiences.
