The certified emission reductions (CERs) from Shanwei City's second batch of forestry carbon-inclusive projects were successfully traded at the Guangzhou Emissions Exchange on January 16. Approximately 123,800 tons of provincial-level CERs were sold, generating 3.4 million yuan in revenue. To date, Shanwei has achieved cumulative revenues exceeding 10 million yuan from two batches of forestry carbon-inclusive projects.

The traded projects encompass 38 forestry carbon-inclusive initiatives, including 37 village collectives in Luhe County and Fangrong Village in the Xingang Subdistrict of Chengqu District, Shanwei City. Their successful transaction marks an important step in Shanwei's ongoing efforts to realize the value of ecological products.
In recent years, Shanwei has positioned forestry carbon-inclusive projects as a key driver of green development and rural revitalization. These projects have brought tangible economic benefits to village collectives while also encouraging local communities to protect forests and waters, fostering a positive interaction between ecological conservation and economic growth.
