Officials from Dongguan Binhaiwan Bay Area and Humen Town visited autonomous driving company Pony.ai in Guangzhou on October 14. The two sides discussed moving forward with the Pony.ai Binhaiwan Smart Center project in Dongguan Binhaiwan Bay Area.
The delegation took a trial ride in Pony.ai's Robotaxi and experienced its autonomous driving mobility service firsthand. They also toured the company's exhibition hall and vehicle production line to learn about its latest progress in autonomous driving R&D, vehicle manufacturing and commercial operations.
At a meeting during the visit, the two sides discussed project cooperation and industrial collaboration. Under the plan, Pony.ai will set up a wholly owned subsidiary in Dongguan Binhaiwan Bay Area as its regional headquarters in the city. It also plans to build the Pony.ai Binhaiwan Smart Center within five years.
The two sides also discussed jointly developing the industrial ecosystem, end-to-end regulation of autonomous driving and opening up new application scenarios on a pilot basis.
