On November 17, GDToday hosted four renowned international photographers in Dongguan's Binhaiwan Bay Area. They were invited to experience the dynamic vitality and rich cultural charm of this emerging coastal city.
American-Chinese photographer Ringo Chiu, a Pulitzer Prize winner, was particularly captivated by the natural beauty of the Binhaiwan Bay Area. "I am very satisfied with the works I've created here," said he. His works emphasized the harmony between people and their environment, capturing the warmth of daily life in his photographs.
In a promising follow-up, the works of these photographers will be showcased in a photography exhibition scheduled to take place from December 2024 to January 2025 in both Guangzhou and Los Angeles. This exhibition aims to highlight the remarkable moments and beauty of Guangdong through the lens of these acclaimed artists.
In recent years, the Binhaiwan Bay Area has focused on a dual strategy of technological innovation and advanced manufacturing. The region is rapidly constructing a modern industrial system dominated by high-end electronic information, artificial intelligence, life science, and modern services. To support this development, major companies like OPPO, vivo, and XiaoTianCai have established their presence in the area, promoting a deep integration of talent, industry, and innovation.
Among the photographers are Pulitzer Prize winners and recipients of prestigious awards such as the World Press Photo Award. Their works hold significant social influence and artistic resonance in both domestic and international photography circles.
