South China Agricultural University sets up education foundation in Hong Kong

South China Agricultural University (SCAU) launched an education development foundation on June 22 in Hong Kong, aiming to strengthen cooperation in talent development, scientific research, and social engagement.

The foundation will focus on key fields such as agricultural science, life sciences, and smart agriculture. According to SCAU Vice President Zhong Qiang, it will support nearly ten collaborative projects, including a Belt and Road agricultural talent program, a joint laboratory, and a digital agriculture innovation base.

At the launch ceremony, three new platforms were also unveiled: the SCAU Hong Kong-Macao Alumni Hub, a postgraduate training base in partnership with Hong Kong's Tai Tong Organic Eco-Park, and an international talent station. These initiatives are designed to enhance cross-border academic exchange and provide students with hands-on research opportunities.
