The Echeng Bridge (Goose City Bridge), the 7th bridge above the Dongjiang River in downtown Huizhou, opened to traffic on December 28.

Huizhou is also known as the Goose City due to its historical legend. With more than six million people, it is now a major city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. With the development of the economy and society in the past few years, Huizhou needs to build more bridges to ease the issue of heavy traffic, especially the traffic jams caused by vehicles crossing the Dongjiang River.

(As the Echeng Bridge opens, the pressure of heavy traffic is expected to be eased in the future.)
The Echeng Bridge project, a bridge-and-road complex with 2.94 kilometers in length and six two-way lanes, is located in Huicheng District, which is the downtown of Huizhou. The main bridge is about 1.12 kilometers and is the first oblique span-shaped arch bridge in Huizhou.
