The 4th Southern Chinese Medicine Industry Conference will be held in Guangdong's Yunfu City from January 4 to 6, 2025, according to a press conference held by the Information Office of the Guangdong Provincial Government.

According to Xu Xianrong, Deputy Mayor of the Yunfu Municipal People's Government, the conference will include a series of activities such as the opening ceremony, international traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) cooperation and exchange events, TCM market, investment promotion, and TCM exhibition and sales events.
The opening ceremony of the conference will be held at the Yunfu Campus of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University on the morning of January 5. Highlighting the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), the opening ceremony will invite esteemed representatives from the Hong Kong Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioners Association, the Federation of the Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Chinese Medicines Traders Association, and other Hong Kong and Macao traditional Chinese medicine associations to attend.
A plaque will be awarded to the Yunfu Southern Chinese Medicine Industry Center of China United Traditional Chinese Medicine (Macau) Exchange, aiming to establish an efficient, standardized, and safe trading platform for traditional Chinese medicinal materials.

During the TCM medicine cooperation and exchange events in the afternoon of January 5, experts will deliver speeches on topics such as orthopedic medicine schools, sources of traditional Chinese medicines and natural drugs, Xinhui dried tangerine peel, huajuhong, cassia bark industry, and more.
The TCM Market will be held at Luoding People's Square, featuring free clinics and health consultations by famous doctors and experts, as well as experiences of TCM services and products. Renowned traditional Chinese medicine experts from the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine will be present to provide pulse diagnosis and consultation for the public.
According to Xu Xianrong, Yunfu has established 15 seed and seedling breeding bases, with an annual breeding of over 100 million high-quality seedlings of Evodia Lepta, Zanthoxylum Nitidum, Sarcandra Glabra, and Pithecellobium Clypearia.
Currently, the large-scale cultivation area of southern Chinese medicines in Yunfu has reached over 135,000 mu (about 9,000 hectares), accounting for about one-fifth of the province's total. With 58 cultivated varieties, Yunfu boasts the largest cultivated area and the biggest number of varieties in the province.

There are 143 demonstration bases for southern Chinese medicines cultivation in the city, including 16 industrialized planting bases of traditional Chinese medicinal materials in Guangdong Province. Also, there are 110 TCM processing enterprises, including 35 enterprises above designated size, with a total output value of about 10 billion yuan for the whole industry chain of TCM.
According to Liu Tao, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Provincial Bureau of TCM, Guangdong has actively implemented the "Hong Kong and Macao Medicine and Equipment Connect" policy, with 27 overseas traditional Chinese medicines approved for clinical use in the mainland.
Additionally, 15 traditional Chinese medicines for external use from Hong Kong and Macao have been approved for registration and marketing in the mainland. The pioneering "Hong Kong and Macao Ownership, GBA Production" model has been established, with two Hong Kong and Macao drugs currently produced cross-border in the mainland cities of the GBA.
