Guangdong maintained double-digit foreign trade growth in the first four months of the year, with total imports and exports reaching 3.49 trillion yuan, up 18.4% year-on-year. Exports rose 11.4% to 2.06 trillion yuan, while imports surged 30.1% to 1.43 trillion yuan.
During this period, the province accounted for 21.5% of China's total foreign trade, up 0.6 percentage points from the same period last year, and contributed 25.8% to the country's overall trade growth.

The province's top three trading partners remained ASEAN, Hong Kong SAR, and the EU, with trade volumes reaching 540.55 billion yuan, 521.24 billion yuan, and 379.85 billion yuan, respectively. All posted double-digit growth of 10.8%, 40.5%, and 10.4%.
Trade with Japan and South Korea rose by more than 30%, increasing 34.3% and 30.4%, respectively. Trade with Australia, the five Central Asian countries, Africa, and India also expanded faster than Guangdong's overall pace, rising 51.4%, 24.1%, 21.4%, and 19%, respectively.
Private enterprises remained the fastest-growing, with imports and exports climbing 24% to 2.33 trillion yuan, 5.6 percentage points above the province's overall growth rate, accounting for 66.8% of Guangdong's total foreign trade. Foreign-invested enterprises also maintained steady momentum, with trade totaling 1.04 trillion yuan, up 12.4%, accounting for 29.8%.
Exports of high-tech and high-value-added mechanical and electrical products remained a major growth engine. Guangdong exported 1.45 trillion yuan worth of these products in the first four months, up 15.7%, accounting for 70.4% of total exports, 2.6 percentage points higher than a year earlier. Among key products, exports of 3D printers surged 123.3%, digital cameras rose 74.7%, lithium-ion batteries increased 53.9%, and drones grew 34.2%.
Meanwhile, imports of mechanical and electrical products reached 955.96 billion yuan, up 24.9%, accounting for 67.1% of Guangdong's total imports. Imports of integrated circuits climbed 37.7% to 541.62 billion yuan, while computer parts and components soared 3.1 times to 106.9 billion yuan.
